Today @ Work
Nov 5th
Today was a normal day, I swapped out an Epson SX205 that was under warranty and that had stopped printing. I saved the documents upgraded the RAM and reloaded a Packard Bell Easynote Laptop that had a dodgy copy of Windows XP Pro on it, even-thou it had a perfectly good restore and Windows XP Home License on it.
I also stripped out an Acer Aspire 5535 laptop where the power point had been pushed into the laptop, fixed with a small amount of Epoxy Resin, rebuilt and tested new PSU ordered as the old one was damaged.
My Saturday at Work
Aug 29th
I serviced and modified an Epson photo 2100 (removed the ink waste pads reset the counter and brought the waste pipe to the outside of the printer). That was basically my day at work, apart from a few counter sales and answering the phone nothing else was worked on, Boring really. I’m glad there are not many days like today.
Work Today
Aug 28th
Today I serviced an Epson R1800 and Stylus Photo EX printers that had hit there waste pad counters, I exchanged an Epson S20 that was using to much ink, I also serviced an Epson DX4050 that had a paper feed problem.
I also condemned a HP NX6120 laptop that came in not booting, well it had no power to the mainboard more to the point, probably down to the fact that the laptop had been abused, it would have never been cleaned. The heatsink was stuffed with dust, basically the dirtiest laptop I have ever seen, yuk
Epson Photo 925 Damaged roller
Jun 5th

This is an Epson photo 925 with a paper feed problem, it somethimes fails to pickup paper and feed the paper through the printer. This roller should not be smooth and shiny, infact it should have a course coating to grab the paper. For this printer there is no cost effective repair, unless you are able to find a donor printer.
An Epson C42 Service
Mar 28th
This was a quick epson C42 service as requested by a customer, (duno why its just as cheap to buy a new one).
Anyway we start by taking the case off, 7 clips 10 seconds. then removed the paper feed tray to gain access to the waste pads, next is the front head guide, the 3 small rollers and the removable front cog, all the plastic parts are cleaned with water and dried, and the metal head guide is cleaned with a cloth and regreased. The head cleaning assembley is also removed dismattled, cleaned with water, reassembled and refitted along with all the other parts.
The last part of the operation is the cleaning of the outer case which takes a little more cleaning with some detergent or other cleaning solution, its then clip back on to the printer.
Now the printer goes through a head cleaning cycle to make sure the ink is flowing and a nozzle check to test the printer before its ready to go back to the customer.
A poorly DX3850 Fixed :)
Mar 27th
This is an Epson DX3850 printer that’s in need of a major service, as you can see the ink head wiper blade is encrusted in sticky ink and hair, wasn’t sure what hair but the next photo gives you a clue.
This dog tag was extracted from underneath the paper rollers which nearly broke them.
The printer had a full service and after a couple of head cleans it sprange into life and printed a nice clean nozzle check
